Apple’s 2025 ‘iPhone 17 Slim’ Could Feature Compact 6.55-inch Display

Apple’s upcoming “iPhone 17 Slim” or iPhone 17 Plus model, expected to launch in 2025, may sport a more compact 6.55-inch display, according to Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young.

In a post shared with subscribers on X (formerly Twitter), Young added details to a report initially shared by Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu. Pu had claimed that the iPhone 17 Plus could be replaced by an “iPhone 17 Slim” variant with a 6.6-inch display.

However, Young’s update specifies that the purported “iPhone 17 Slim” will feature a 6.55-inch display, which represents a 2% reduction in screen size compared to the current iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 15 Plus, and iPhone 16 Plus (anticipated in 2024), all of which boast 6.69-inch OLED displays.

The slightly smaller display on the “iPhone 17 Slim” would help differentiate Apple’s larger iPhone model from the iPhone 17 Pro Max, while still maintaining a larger screen than the rumored 6.1-inch iPhone 17 and 6.3-inch iPhone 17 Pro.

If these predictions hold true, the “iPhone 17 Slim” could offer a more compact form factor for users who prefer a larger display but don’t want the heft and size of Apple’s top-tier Max models.
