Xiaomi has officially launched the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 globally, following their initial debut in China. While both models retain flagship-grade hardware, there are a few differences in the global variants, including battery capacity and color options.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: A Flagship Powerhouse

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with up to 16GB of RAM. It features a 6.73-inch 3200x1440px AMOLED display with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and an impressive 3,200-nit peak brightness.

One key difference between the global and Chinese variants is battery size. The global Xiaomi 15 Ultra packs a 5,410mAh battery (down from 6,000mAh in the Chinese model) but retains 90W wired and 80W wireless HyperCharge.

The camera system remains a major highlight. The main 50MP LYT-900 sensor comes with a fixed f/1.63 aperture, replacing the variable aperture from the Chinese version. The telephoto setup includes a 70mm f/1.8 lens (Sony IMX858) and a new 100mm f/2.6 periscope lens (Samsung HP9, 200MP). The ultrawide camera now features a 14mm f/2.2 lens with a Samsung JN5 sensor.

For durability, Xiaomi has equipped the 15 Ultra with Shield Glass 2.0, claimed to be 16 times more resistant to drops. The back panel features glass fiber material, with a textured finish on the Black variant and an etched pattern on the White model.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is available in White, Black, and a special Silver Chrome edition. The Pine Green variant remains exclusive to China.

Xiaomi 15: Premium Specs at a Lower Price

Alongside the Ultra, Xiaomi has also launched the Xiaomi 15 globally. It sports a 6.36-inch 1200x2670px LTPO AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and the same Shield Glass 2.0 protection. The global Xiaomi 15 has a 5,240mAh battery, slightly smaller than the 5,400mAh in the Chinese variant.

Under the hood, it shares the Snapdragon 8 Elite with up to 16GB RAM. The camera setup includes a 50MP f/1.6 main sensor (1/1.31-inch), a 60mm f/2.0 telephoto camera (Samsung JN5, 1/2.51-inch), and a 14mm f/2.2 ultrawide. The selfie camera is 32MP with a 22mm f/2.0 lens.

Both the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra maintain pricing in line with their predecessors:

  • Xiaomi 15 (12GB/256GB): €1,000

The devices will be available starting March 4, with the Xiaomi 15 in Black, White, and Mint, while the Xiaomi 15 Ultra comes in White, Black, and Silver Chrome.
