A server-side issue is preventing Meta-owned messaging service WhatsApp from updating the privacy setting “who can see when I’m online” on iOS.
It is currently unknown how many users are affected by this problem and what is causing it, however according to WABetaInfo, This outage is not because of a broken update
The company is still holding off on making an official announcement or disclosing any details about the issue.
The report also stated that the current configuration is secure if a user’s online activity on the platform is disguised so that no one can see when they are online.
The messaging platform experienced a global outage, which lasted more than two hours in October of last year.
Over 85% of people experienced issues with messaging, 11% with using the app, and 3% with using the website, based on the outage tracking website DownDetector.
