Meta-owned WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging software, will release key changes in the next months. WhatsApp’s Android beta is reportedly adding a “Report status update” option.
In addition to reporting messages, WhatsApp lets users report annoying status updates that violate the company’s Terms of Service. This feature protects platform and user reports, WABetaInfo.
WABetaInfo reports that Meta-owned platform will include a report button to status choices. Whether you report a status update, the moderation staff will analyze it to see if it violates the Terms of Service.
The report said that this function does not threaten end-to-end encryption since all devices encrypt messages, voice calls, media, location sharing, calls, and status updates. WhatsApp beta for Android plans to give the option to report status changes.
WhatsApp will launch “Chat Transfer” shortly. It allows local network data transfer between Android devices. Since the app is under development, WABetaInfo reports that the new function will be included in a future version. Scan the QR code to transfer conversation history to a new device.
Based on the report, users would no longer need to back up their conversation data to Google Drive to move it across devices.
The Meta-owned app has also released proxy support options for users worldwide, including millions of Iranians who are still denied the freedom to connect freely and anonymously. They may use a proxy to connect to WhatsApp using servers put up by individuals and organizations worldwide to allow people communicate freely.
