Many users have complained that the option to send a direct message to another account directly from a profile page on Twitter Android and iOS apps has been deleted.
As per 9To5Google, the “DM” button, which usually displays next to the follow and notify buttons, has disappeared with no replacement.
All Twitter accounts appear to be experiencing this issue, which is likely simply a minor glitch.
Given how the service is now operated, it is difficult to determine whether this was done on purpose by the platform.
The report added that, users can still send a direct message by finding the desired account on the messages tab.
Last week, Twitter CEO Elon Musk said that a more expensive, ad-free subscription to the microblogging service will be made available soon.
Musk also disclosed that users will no longer be required to use the “For You” algorithmic timeline in the forthcoming platform update.
