Nothing is preparig to launch its new Phone (2a) Plus globally on July 31st. This mid-range smartphone will use the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 SoC and up to 12GB of RAM, according to official sources. A recent leak revealed new information regarding the device’s specifications.
Contrary to expectations, the Phone (2a) Plus is reported to maintain the same 6.7-inch AMOLED display as its standard counterpart. The color options will remain familiar, with grey and black finishes, though a slightly different finish compared to its predecessor is suggested.
The “Plus” label appears to be a result of numerous important advancements. First, the processor was upgraded from the Dimensity 7200 Pro in the Phone (2a) to the Dimensity 7350 in the Plus variant. The selfie camera has also been upgraded, with a 50MP sensor replacing the previous 32MP sensor. Furthermore, the Phone (2a) Plus is predicted to have faster charging capabilities, ranging from 45W to 50W.
However, these upgrades appear to be the key differentiators between the two models. The design, display, and rear camera configuration are apparently nearly identical, which may affect users’ decisions based on their unique requirements and each device’s value proposition.
The leak suggests that the Phone (2a) Plus will be available in two configurations: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. Pricing information has not yet been disclosed.
As the launch date approaches, official confirmation of these specifications is expected soon. Potential buyers will need to weigh the benefits of the upgraded processor, selfie camera, and charging capabilities against their requirements and budget when considering the Phone (2a) Plus versus the standard Phone (2a).
