In an exciting move for Android fans, Nothing has announced that its upcoming Phone (2a) will be one of the first non-Pixel devices to offer early access to the Android 15 Developer Preview.

This announcement comes hot on the heels of Google’s I/O event, where the tech giant unveiled a slew of improvements and features slated for the next iteration of its mobile operating system.

The Android 15 Developer Preview is currently available for a small number of Google Pixel devices, including the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold. However, Nothing has taken the lead to extend this early access to its upcoming Phone (2a), giving developers and fans a head start on exploring the latest Android features.

Nothing has offered a thorough step-by-step guide on its website that walks users through the process of downloading and installing the Android 15 Developer Preview on the Phone (2a).

However, it is important to note that this early build is still in active development, and certain features may be missing or not working as intended.

Among the known issues highlighted by Nothing are the inability to register fingerprints, the unavailability of face unlock, and the absence of pre-installed Nothing apps such as Weather, Launcher, Recorder, and Widgets. Despite these limitations, users will have the option to roll back to the stable build if they encounter any major issues or are unsatisfied with the performance of the Developer Preview.

Nothing’s recognized faults include the inability to register fingerprints, the lack of face unlock, and the absence of pre-installed Nothing apps including Weather, Launcher, Recorder, and Widgets. Despite these limits, users will be able to revert to the stable build if they discover serious bugs or are dissatisfied with the Developer Preview’s performance.
