Microsoft Teams Premium gets New OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 supported features

Microsoft has updated its Teams Premium with new features that are powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 to make meetings AI-powered.

The technology company stated in a blog post on Wednesday that the new features seek to make meetings more intelligent, individualized, and secure – whether it’s one-on-one, group meetings, virtual appointments, or webinars.

“With a 252 per cent increase in weekly time spent in meetings in the first two years of the pandemic, we needed to find ways to work smarter, not harder.

Users will receive automatically created meeting notes, suggested tasks, and personalized highlights using the “intelligent recap” feature.

This tool, which will be available in the second quarter of this year, will assist users in saving time spent examining meeting recordings.

The ‘AI-generated chapters’ will divide the meeting into sections, making it easier to select the topics most relevant to users. This is now accessible for “PowerPoint Live meeting recordings”.

“Intelligent recap will automatically generate meeting chapters based on the meeting transcript,” the company added.

In order to quickly click and listen in on what they missed, customers may now access personalized timeline markers that will “call out when you joined or left a meeting in the meeting recording, so you can quickly click and listen in on what you missed.”

The timeline markers will also be expanded to show the user’s name and the sharing of a screen.

The tech giant said, “In the coming months, you’ll see key points and takeaways after the meeting, with AI-generated notes created automatically and powered by GPT-3.5.

“AI is also here to help with some of the toughest collaboration challenges – working with people who natively speak different languages. Anyone can turn on live captions in Teams and see real-time captions in the spoken language,” it added.

Microsoft also announced new brand features like as ‘Branded meetings,’ ‘organization backgrounds,’ and ‘organization together mode sceneries,’ among others.

Furthermore, customers can purchase Teams Premium for $7 until June 30, after which it will be $10.
