This week at the Meta Quest Gaming Showcase, Meta revealed that it is collaborating with several gaming developers to develop VR versions of a number of new games and old favorites for Quest headsets.
The Next Evolution of NFL PRO ERA, Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, Assassin’s Creed: Nexus VR, and Stranger Things VR are just a few of the popular games on the list. A VR remake of SEGA’s legendary arcade game Samba de Amigo from 1999 is another worthy of note game joining the list.
However, a VR adaptation of the adventure game “The 7th Guest” from the 1990s is the one that is attracting the most interest. The game is created by Vertigo Studios Rotterdam and Exkee and is published by Vertigo Games.
It is set in a spooky house that is home to ghosts. The original version’s hard challenges are anticipated to be kept in the VR version, but it will also reportedly have various optical illusions that should make it much more spooky.
The finest aspect of the remake is that it will have enough components that fans of the original game will find quite familiar, since the developers have paid tribute to the original by adding many well-known challenges and other things.
For the new game, several of the original characters—among them Martine Burden, Brian Dutton, Edward, and Elinor Knox—will also make appearances.
The remake is based on the original plot created by Matthew J. Costello, and Vertigo claims to have collaborated with several of the original game’s creators, including Rob Landeros and Graeme Devine. The 7th Guest VR will be available later this year for the Meta Quest 2, Quest Pro, the recently announced Quest 3, and other PC VR platforms.
Aside from the previously mentioned games, a slew of more VR titles will be available for Quest headsets in the near future. They are as follows:
I Expect You to Die 3: Cog in the Machine, Silent Slayer: Vault of the Vampire, UNDERDOGS, Racket Club, Vampire: The Masquerade – Justice, Dungeons of Eternity, Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable, Bulletstorm, No More Rainbows, Little Cities, Death Game Hotel, Ghost Signal: A Stellaris Game, Onward, Walkabout Mini Golf, Demeo Battles, We Are One, Powerwash Simulator, Arizona Sunshine 2
