New images allegedly showing dummy units of the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro Max have surfaced online, providing a clear look at the rumored size increase for Apple’s next premium smartphone.

The images, originally posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) by ZONEofTECH, show the two devices side-by-side from multiple angles, revealing a noticeable difference in their dimensions.

Judging from the leaks, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature a massive 6.9-inch display, making it the largest iPhone model ever released by Apple. In comparison, the current iPhone 15 Pro Max sports a 6.7-inch screen size, which has been consistent since the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

While the increase from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches may seem minimal on paper, the visual difference appears quite significant based on the leaked images. The iPhone 16 Pro Max’s larger footprint is clearly visible, indicating a substantial upgrade for users seeking an even more immersive viewing experience.

Beyond the display size, the images also provide a glimpse of the camera module on the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which appears slightly thicker compared to its predecessor. However, as the display on the dummy unit is non-functional, it’s unclear if the rumored reduced bezels for the new iPhone hold.

Another major addition spotted in the leaks is the appearance of a “Capture” button on the bottom right side of the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Rumors claim that this capacitive button will be force-sensitive and mostly focused on camera functionality, which is slated to receive upgrades such as a larger 1/1.4-inch primary sensor and a 48MP ultra-wide camera.

While the leaked images shed light on the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s design, rumors about its internal hardware and AI capabilities continue to circulate. Reports indicate that the A18 Pro chip could feature a larger die area, boosting machine learning performance, although RAM specifications may remain unchanged from the previous generation.

Like with previous leaks and rumors, formal confirmation won’t be available until September, when Apple is slated to host the much-anticipated launch event for the iPhone 16 series. Apple fans and industry observers will keep a close eye on the company until then.
