It is now possible to use a single WhatsApp account across multiple phones

WhatsApp has finally unveiled a long-awaited feature that allows users to use the same WhatsApp account on multiple devices. This feature has long been requested by users who operate multiple phones and have had to move between phones to access their WhatsApp accounts.

The latest feature allows the same account to be used on up to four phones at the same time. Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s CEO, made the news on Facebook. “Starting today,” he said, “you can log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones.”

While a comparable capability was previously accessible under the ‘Linked devices’ option, it only enabled access to WhatsApp from computer browsers, Android tablets, and the main phone. Users may now log in to one WhatsApp account on up to four devices, giving a more seamless experience.

The feature will be useful not just users who wish to utilize a single WhatsApp account on various devices, but also for small companies where several employees may send and receive messages from a single company WhatsApp account by signing in with different devices.

Here’s how to log into a single WhatsApp account from multiple devices

Users need to take a few easy steps in order to log into one WhatsApp account across multiple devices.

  • To begin, open the WhatsApp app on the other phone and select the ‘connect to existing account’ option. On the screen, a QR code will display.
  • Then, on the primary phone, launch the WhatsApp app and select ‘connect a device’ from the ‘Linked devices’ menu.
  • Finally, users must use the primary phone to scan the QR code that showed on the secondary phone in order to log into the WhatsApp account on the secondary phone without signing out of the first phone.

It’s important to know that, for security reasons, if the primary phone is inactive for an extended period of time, the WhatsApp account on the secondary phone will automatically log out. The feature is accessible on both iOS and Android.
