Apple Music on iPhone keeps pausing or disconnecting
Generally speaking, when listening to music on an iPhone with Bluetooth headphones connected while it is in the pocket, users have experienced Apple Music pausing or disconnecting.
However, this issue can also arise for a variety of other reasons, such as network connectivity problems, a temporary malfunction in the Music App, or troubles with Apple’s Music Service.
- Restart your iPhone.
As was already discussed, Apple Music may not be functioning properly on iPhone owing to a software problem or frozen app.
To shut down, go to Settings > General. Use the Slider to turn off the iPhone on the following screen.
Allow iPhone to shut down fully and wait 30 second. Check to see if Apple Music is now operating properly on your iPhone after restarting it.
- Launch Apple Music afresh
The glitches or issues with the Apple Music App on your smartphone could be to blame for the issue.

- Check the Status of Apple Music Service

The issue could be because Apple Music is out of date, or that an iOS update is awaiting installation on your device.
Tap Settings > General > Software Update from the menu.

- Turn off Automatic Ear Detection.
If you’re using AirPods, the problem could be that they’re disconnecting owing to proximity sensors that aren’t operating properly.
Go to Settings > Bluetooth and then tap on the I icon next to your AirPods in the “My Devices” section.
Disable Automatic Ear Detection on the following screen by shifting the toggle to the OFF position.

Go to Settings > Battery and turn off Low Power Mode by flipping the toggle.
