While the official Google Pixel launch event is set for October 4, tech lovers won’t have to wait until then to get a first peek at the Pixel Watch 2. The “sneak peek” video, which was shared on Google’s Made by Google YouTube channel, provides an in-depth look at the upcoming smartwatch from several angles, revealing both its front and back.
In this new video, viewers are treated to the most comprehensive view of the Pixel Watch 2 yet. The footage showcases the smartwatch from various angles, granting us glimpses of both its front and back.
Confirming our suspicions from earlier, the Pixel Watch 2 retains much of the design language of its predecessor. It proudly showcases the signature domed display, the convenient rotating crown, and the side button. However, there are intriguing differences to uncover.
A closer look at the device’s rear reveals engraved designs on the metal surface. The IP68 rating is a pleasant surprise, showing a major improvement over the previous model, which lacked IP certification and only gave a 5 ATM level.
Squint a little, and you’ll spot additional features that the video quietly confirms, including water resistance up to 50 meters, an electrodermal activity sensor (EDA), a heart rate sensor, sleep tracking functionality, and an oxygen saturation sensor (SpO2). The video also provides a clear view of the sensors, thoughtfully arranged in a 3×3 pattern.
The Pixel Watch 2 is set to debut alongside the Pixel 8 at Google’s event on October 4th. Interestingly, the video’s fine print drops a hint that pre-orders will open on the same day as the event. The tech world is buzzing with anticipation as Google looks poised to deliver an exciting addition to the smartwatch market. Stay tuned for more updates as the big day approaches.
