Apple might finally be close to launching a more affordable version of its Vision Pro headset.
For years, rumors have swirled about a lower-priced model. But Apple has reportedly struggled to trim costs without ditching important features.
Now, it seems the company is working on not just one, but two new versions of the headset.
According to a fresh report, the first model is aimed at regular consumers—with a more wallet-friendly price tag.
The second model, on the other hand, is being designed for enterprise use, and it’ll likely connect directly to a Mac.
The consumer version of the Vision Pro will tackle two key complaints: the high price and the heavy weight.
There’s no confirmed price yet, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously hinted it could land around $1,600.
That’s still pricey, but far less painful than the current $3,499 model. And it could attract users who’ve been on the fence.
Reports also suggest this version might be lighter, making it more comfortable to wear for longer stretches.
We don’t know yet if Apple will switch to plastic or other cheaper materials to make that happen.
Last year, Gurman mentioned the cheaper model might come with a lower-end display, plastic casing, and an A-series chip.
If that’s true, it could land in the same ballpark as the Meta Quest 3, which is far more affordable than the original Vision Pro.
As for the second model—it’s all about business. This one’s being built for professional environments like hospitals or aviation.
It’s said to connect to a Mac and offer super low latency, which is crucial for precision-heavy tasks like surgery or flight training.
Unlike older prototypes, this headset will use the same pass-through tech as the current Vision Pro, not transparent lenses.
There’s no official word yet on when either model will be revealed. But don’t be surprised if Apple shows them off later this year.
