The highly anticipated release of Apex Legends‘ 21st season, dubbed “Upheaval,” is coming up tomorrow, May 7, 2024, and Respawn Entertainment is getting ready for it. With the reintroduction of the beloved Solos mode and the addition of a new playable character, the most recent content update promises to upend the battle royale experience.

The main highlight of Season 21 is the arrival of “Alter,” a devil-like female character with horns and supernatural abilities. According to official teasers, Alter’s unique skillset revolves around traversing different realities and thriving in worlds on the brink of destruction.

One of Alter’s standout abilities allows her to teleport herself and her teammates through portals she creates, enabling swift traversal across the battlefield. Additionally, she can summon loot boxes from a distance, providing a tactical advantage in resource management.

Along with the new character, Apex Legends gamers will be treated to the much-anticipated return of the Solo mode. This mode, which was briefly available in the game’s early years, allows players to compete without relying on teammates.

The Solos mode will be available from the start of Season 21 until June 24, providing players plenty of opportunity to enjoy the intense solitary gameplay experience. Respawn Entertainment will closely monitor the mode’s reception to determine its longevity within the game.

As with previous seasons, “Upheaval” is expected to bring a host of additional content, including new cosmetic items, balance adjustments, and potential map updates. However, specific details on these elements have yet to be revealed.

Apex Legends, a free-to-play battle royale title, continues to enjoy a dedicated player base across multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo consoles, and mobile devices.
