Google released the second public beta of Android 15, which marks an important shift in the current mobile operating system’s testing beyond the company’s Pixel ecosystem.

Along with Pixel models, users may now install and test the Android 15 beta on certain smartphones and tablets from key Android companies, including Xiaomi, OnePlus, OPPO, Honor, Vivo, iQOO, and others.

Traditionally, the second Android beta opens the preview program to third-party device makers, allowing them to optimize their custom Android skins and prepare for the eventual stable release later this year. However, the beta builds provided to partner brands at this stage are vanilla Android 15 versions without any custom UI overlays or feature additions.

Some of the major devices that have gained access to Android 15 beta 2 include

  • Honor: Honor Magic 6 Pro, Honor Magic V2
  • Xiaomi: Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 13T Pro, Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4
  • OnePlus: OnePlus 12, OnePlus Open
  • OPPO: Find X7
  • Vivo: Vivo X100
  • iQOO: iQOO 12
  • Nothing: Nothing Phone 2a
  • Realme: Realme 12 Pro+ 5G
  • Lenovo: Lenovo Tab Extreme
  • Sharp: Sharp Aquos sense8
  • Tecno: Tecno Camon 30 Pro 5G

While the second beta is more reliable than the first developer previews, Google recommends against installing it on primary devices owing to potential issues and concerns. The build is recommended for secondary devices, as well as developers and fans who are ready to put up with disruptions in exchange for early access to Android 15 features.

Some known difficulties in this beta include connectivity issues, camera errors, and general stability concerns. However, it allows you to try out Android 15’s new features like as predictive back gestures, enhanced tablet optimizations, per-app language settings, and improved privacy controls.
